What yarn should I use for Mini Christmas Stocking?
For this project I decided to use a soft yarn. I used 4 worsted weight Caron Simply Soft. But you can also 100% cotton yarn, it just won't be as soft.
In fact you can use any yarn you have lingering around. It is a great project to use that scrap of yarn you have saved from another project and don't know what to do with it.
Stitches, Terminology and abbreviations
When I designed this mini Christmas Stocking, I wanted to use basic stitches so anybody even with only a basic knowledge could complete this pattern. So I decided to use basic stitches with some variations such as crochet on back loop only.
Below is the list of stitches you will need to know to finish this pattern. It uses the US terminology.
- magic ring
- sl st = slip stitch
- ch = Chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc: single crochet
- rep = repeat (what is between the *)
- DCBLO = double crochet back loop only Click here to learn
- inc = increase / 2 dc on each stitch
- yo = yarn over
- sc in 3rd loop
- * = Indicates start and finish of repeat
